my journey in the food industry has provided me with both financial stability and a profound sense of purpose. opening a small business in an ever-evolving landscape is inherently challenging, a truth i learned firsthand while navigating a recession and a global pandemic—far from ideal circumstances.
along my path, i've encountered countless challenging interactions, sub par reviews, lawsuits, theft, debt, fires, floods, power outages, personal loss, construction delays, equipment malfunctions, and the painful process of hiring and firing. yet, amidst these trials, there have also been remarkable moments of success. whether it was reaching a financial goal or simple heart flutter of seeing that unrequited love take a seat in MY dining room. the rewards are worth the risk and as someone who continues to operate a food-based business, i deeply understand the necessity of adaptation and the exhilaration that comes with launching one's own venture.
